Hello!
well,I know this is not everybody`s taste, but I have always wanted a
boat tail. The boat tail first appeared on the 71 fx superglide and lasted for the 3 first month`s in 72. There is a few "hard to get" parts on it ,and this is how it
looks now.
Thanks
Trond

I've come to like the black FX's more than the Sparkling Americas, the red and blue stripes really stand out against the black paint. One thing I noticed, the tank stripe seem to be positioned too straight. Hopefully I'm wrong. Very nice bike. I'm envious.

Freakin awesome! I had a magazine ad on My wall of the boat-tail Super Glide in black. Stared at it all the way thru Junior High. I ride a super Glide now!
Your bike is coming along nicely. It is a tough bike to piece together if you are going for a restoration as there were a few wierd parts pieced together on that model especially the rear brake setup. I had one for a while that I bought from the original owner. He was a native american indian and I believe i could have made a better deal if I brought some firewater along!. He put 6 over fork tubes on it and man was it top heavy, I took them off. If I can get this link right there are a bunch of pics and videos of that bike on webshots.
I loved the bike but the front end was so spindly that it handled funny. An old road test said it felt like there was a hinge in the middle of the frame and they hit the nail on the head, It was a hard riding bike and rode harsh like an old corvette but had incredible grunt. I will attempt to attach a picture
