Gotta post an intro man. And use the search function before posting unless you wanna get your post possibly deleted.

To answer your question the integral drum set up came on 35mm front ends as well. Easy way is to swap out disc sliders for drum sliders if you can get ahold of them. Or shave your sliders and weld on the proper tab for the brake stay/cable adjuster. Good luck.

This is what works for the brake on this drum,,the old springer set up is like you describe and then there is this. Also I would think having it up higher like you say would cause the braking to push backward against the top side of the fork leg

but I am by far no brake expert

Honda drum laced to 21" on late 70s HD showa 35mm forks. This is just one way to skin a cat.

  1. Stock HD axle, turned down on lathe on one side to fit the stock 6203 bearings.
  2. Make a spacer/sleeve for one side.
  3. Steel anchor from stock bung on drum to one of the caliper mounts on the fork leg (tension, not compression). You might notice that the legs are actually flipped around to locate the caliper tab in front. I did this to make the cable routing more convenient.
  4. make or buy a cable that works.

As for your shaved legs, just get a new one, or maybe swap someone one shaved for one unshaved leg, then you both win.
