New oil pump fitted,

new billet housing,

there is a steel plate at the bottom
with 6 screws holding it in place,

at the rear of this pump is a fitting

i assume this is the supply to the feed gears,

hose is full even tried compressed air
with sending unit off,
no oil is coming out,

the gears are rotating when the engine is turning
over,

filled gear case with oil,
no problem scavenge side.
Returning aok,

have a missed something,

some one else bolted the pump on,

and it does not come off as the frame rails

are under it,

any clues?

The fitting at the rear of the -72 type pumps is indeed the feed fitting. If you remove the large hex plug at the front of the pump you can remove the feed check ball and spring. This will allow oil to flow through the pump. After that reinstall the check ball, spring and plug.If it wont pump then it is likely that the roll pin that drives the feed gears in the pump is sheared. If that is the case unbolt the engine and remove it.You can then remove the pump and repair it.Dont forget that these pumps must be timed when reinstalled.HTH

SO WHAT WOULD CAUSE NO OIL TO NOT FLOW,

WITH THE BALL AND SPRING OUT,
OIL IN THE GRAVITY LINE,

COMPRESSED AIR FORCING IT THERE,
OH WELL,
LOOKS LIKE THE ENGINE IS COMING OUT,
THERE IS A 16 INCH INVADER IN THE BACK,
AND IT HAD A 51 TOOTH SPROCKET FITTED,
WITH A HD SPORTY DRUM BRAKE,
ANY WAYS LONG STORY SHORT,
IT NOW HAS A 46 TOOTH SPROCKET,
WITH A TRIUMPH dRUM BRAKE FITTED,
WITH MY NEW RIPPLID BRAKE PLATE,
BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS REVVING TOO HIGH ON THE HIWAY,
U KNOW THE TRUMP 8 STUD DRUM IS THE SAME PCD AS HD,
AND I HAVE A BRAKE CABLE XING OVER FROM \
THE RIGHT SIDE TO THE LEFT,
I AM USING A FULL FLOATING SET OF CAMS,
FROM A COMICAL BACK PLATE,
OVER REVVING SOLVED,
HOPE THIS IS HELP TO ANY OVER REVVING IRON POTS .
