I am helping a friend put an evo back together that was crashed. The pipes need to be replaced and I always go with 1 3/4 but is there an advantage to a larger diameter? We will probably cut up and make our own design out of what we get, any opinions might help.

What size does flyrite put on their bikes?

I run 2" on my evo. I think the 1 3/4" look kinda skinny. Plus, the 2" pipes sound hella good.

Are you building 2 into 1? Is it still close to 80"?
Its a stocker nothing crazy not sure on design yet though, just fun not worried about sound as much as performance I hear what your saying Nick about higher rpm's like a drag set up. Looking for any suggestions just on what most people run especially those that built or reworked their pipes on their bike and what worked what didn't or gave problems if any
