Default Just another Triumph Show Bike --ZAM!!

This was sent to me by a lifelong member of the Barbarians MC . He built it in 1960.

Here is another one under construction.

Killer bikes! Thanks for the pictures.

Noticing both bikes running 18" rears -- when did 16" rear wheels come into play in the brit custom scene? Is that more of an early -- late 70's thing?

Those are probably 19 inch rears, the factory rigids came stock with 19s front and rear. I would guess the 16 rear on a Triumph is a late 60s, early 70s thing.

Timeless bikes. I can't get enough of bikes in that era/style.
For the green bike:
- what kind of front end is that?
- where those tanks one-off creations or available thru catalogs?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, pre units are the sexiest motors ever built! Beautiful bikes.

Proof that it's all been done sometime before, and that good design is timeless.

Nice bike but what exactly are the seat springs for, given that there's no room for the seat to move?

That is a stock triumph front end with aftermarket covers on the green bike, along with a spool wheel. the tank was probably hand made.

As for rideability, maybe Jerry's ass hit the fender hard on every bump, but be assured Jerry rode the dog-crap out of his bikes after he showed them. I had an old Barbarian in the shop the other day (Roldan Pagan) and he regailed me with stories of Jerry's riding ability. These guys were NUTS! Outlaws before there were 1 percenters.
