Sad. RIP. My parents just ran into him in Daytona and more recently Hagerstown, MD. They dont make them like him anymore. He will be missed.

That is so sad. I watched Gary win one of the '67 Daytona dirt track races. He was one hell of a dirt track rider. My condolences to his family.

R.I.P. Buddy.....Gary was always a good guy to chat with at the local events. Hell, he was even cool at his indoor Radio controlled car race track when I met him the first time over 15years ago! Godspeed

Damn sad to see this. A boyhood hero of mine as well. Rest in peace, Gary.

My neighbor, Bob Myers ran "Freestate Triumph" near DC for close to 40 years. Gary was on his first race team and Bob has a ton of old pix of Gary. He must be sad this weekend. He still has a set of Gary's white team race leathers and one of his shops Daytona bikes that Gary rode in his basement. I keep telling him he has to get these things into a museum. I scanned these pix, but forgot to label. I think Gary is in each. Bob was too ill to go to the June "Triumph Come Home" event in PA where Gary was and just recently lamented missing an opportunity to hang out with him.

I hate it when legends pass on.
