looking for some help on this one...only other one I can remember seeing even remotely similar was on a friends back in 1973,and that's just too dang long ago for my burnt memory banks to remember who's it was....single down and under motor tube,mechanical brake and no#s anywhere...any help appreciated..

Looks very similar to a Wayne Engineering frame. Especially the single front motor mount. If it has super sano welds, it probably is.

Respectfully, Kevin, I think that looks nothing at all like a Wayne. The only similarity there is the single downtube. Mounts are way off, IMO.

You could be right. I have had and worked on a few over the years and there were a few changes over the time he made them. The last one I had was a NOS one I picked up about 15 years ago. I sold it on here I think 3 or 4 years ago. I remember it had the single lower front motor mount like this one and the round top motor mount coming down(this one looks like it had some extra stuff welded to the frame there.). The rear mount was a rectangular plate, and not shaped like this one. It did not have neck gussets like this one, but these look added on. I remember looking at it from the top it looked just like this one. There were several copy cat outfits making similar ones back in the day, but none of them had as nice a welds as a true Wayne. He had worked as a welder etc building nuclear reactors and everything he did was precise and beautiful.

looks to me like the neck side plates were an afterthought...like someone put them on possibly to be able to mold to...some of the welds are super clean and some...not so much...which of course means different people working on it over time....which you'd exspect with something this old..

I think Century (Nunes & Jennings) and someone has added the plates on the neck. The original welds should be works of art.

the plates definetly were added as an afterthought...and the welds are a work of art...
