Default measuring double harley throttle cable for chopper

Hi
I am putting together an rigid chopper with a 94 fatboy motor. but I am not sure how to measure it. Using plastic hose a little thicker than cable I measured 51" from the throttle housing to where the cables connect to the CV carb. But looking on the net it seems cables are only measured by the outer cable, not the wire itself (or the elbow).
I have looked at different videos, and the guide on Barnett's site, but these are for measuring either an existing cable or replacement cable.
I am looking to buy a set from ebay, but how are they measured?
Maybe I should ask the sellers if their cable would fit the 51"?
What do you guys think?
TIA

Buy an over length one and solder new nipples on one end
If your building bike I’m sure you can solder?
There’s vids on YouTube

richbob, I hadn't thought of that. It's an option. Thanks.
I was just wondering though, if I can establish the stock throttle cable length for a 94 fatboy, (assuming that it is the outer cable only as shown in the guide on Barnett's website), and then add 5 inches for the 90 degree angle, and whatever the measurement is between the cable bracket and where the cables attach to the throttle disk - and then subtract this total from the 51 inches I measured between the throttle housing and the carburetor - do you think the difference could be how much extra cable I need?

Run a string.
Tape in place.
Mark with Sharpie.
Measure.
Order cable of that length for CV carburetor.
