I have been away for a while except for a couple of random posts here and there so here is what I have been up to. I took the UL flathead chop apart and have been slowly collecting a things to make it more to my and JAWS(I think Dragstews gave me a few ideas as well)liking. Juice drum,King Queen seat, trident sissy and most importantly ditching the flat gray powdercoat on the frame for shiny black paint.
I also have been inching closer to getting the 54 Pan together in a kind of a crusty rusty rider style. Frame, tanks, wheels, seat, primary and some small stuff is there but no frontend, motor or tranny. That brings me to my post title. Mike Silvio and I have become really good friends and I spotted a picture on his wall at his Cyclemos Motorcycle Museum in Red Boiling Springs,TN. It was a magazine shot of a sweet looking black and silver period bobber. He said he built it about 10 years ago and that the guy he sold it to was ready to sell. I went to look at it and ended up pulling the trigger. Sorry for the pic bad quality. ![]() ![]() This is the studio shot that got my attention ![]() 47 EL that he says runs like a raped ape. He is going to give it the once over as the gentleman who owned it has stored it in his man cave for the last several years. No fluids,no battery and needs a new float. Needless to say I am like a teenager boy to get his first piece of ass right now! |

Thanks for the kind words guys. I have no intentions of changing anything except the modern rear tire and possibly switching the chrome wheel for black. I have plans to make this one the daily rider as often as the sun is shining.

(The plot.....I express what I would do and I get a lashing from members. I explain myself and finally I leave....Scene one, Action!)
Hmmmmmmm. I'd chop it! (insert crude and mean comments about my mom and how low my IQ is and on and on) WHAT!!?? I'm different. I don't like short bobber types. I like em long and bouncey. Ok ok, it's perfect except it's got funny tires and it's too short and no sissy and it's too short...is that better? I'm going back to my cave...sheesh! (And cut! That's a wrap folks......lets go to the Stop Watch....first rounds on me)

Well, if ya get confused on which one to ride, give anyone of us a call. We'll be happy to help with that decision and ride the neglected one.
![]() Enjoy! |
