Default So what do you think this is off of?

I found this front end a few years ago and have always wondered what it might be from.

Any ideas?

Poor picture but it has a 1/4? eliptical leaf spring up there.

Looks like it is off of a 193? Ferrucello Speedster. The first year of the flux magneto combusiton engines. Which were later carried on to the Ferrucello White lightning models....

These forks are not from an Indian. All the Indian forks with leaf springs had a very distinct curve to the fork legs (curving forward away from the rider). These fork legs are virtualy straight.

There were a number of manufacturers who used leaf springs in the early days of motorcycles. Arrow, Excelsior, Indian, Kokomo, Marsh (M&M), Pope and Traub all used them. Arrow and Kokomo were the only two that I could find that made them with straight legs. The Arrow used round fender braces while the Kokomo used flat stock for the fender braces. These forks look like they came off a Kokomo to me.

Wow,

I hang on HAMB all the time and I always impressed by the knowlegde there. But this pretty much tops that. Never heard of a Kokomo.

I hunted all over that bush patch but this is all I found of the bike.

Thanks!

I see that Shaw purchased Kokomo in 1911.
