I have a line on a chrome HD springer, just wondered does anyone know if you can run them without the shock? I would be powder coating it black grinding off the shock mounts to make it look like a vintage piece. Seems it should ride like any springer without a shock, that is to say fine.
Thanks in advance BBM |

No it's not the same as any other springer without a shock...I rode one about a month ago (shockless) and it really bounces up and down pretty much...in small continiously little jumps if the road is not super flat...not as heavely to stop the bike instantly and run away from it though... but then again, we are used to some strange handling situations in the past...

Geez, that's not the reply I expected but sure am glad that I asked. Sounds way too squirley without the shock to permanetly remove the brackets befrore trying first. As my long departed father used to say; "why in the hell can't you just leave things the way they are?"

The springs are lower rated to induce more travel against the stiff shock. You should be able to put in undampened springs to fix that.
