Default CAL products Shovelhead engine cases

Can anyone tell me about these cases? All I can see is CAL Products, and stamped 83 TJG. Other side says USA and what looks like a stamped DMV number. I can’t find anything about this company online. Curious to see if these have more clearance for stroker flywheels or anything like that. Right side case has some pretty beefy gussets.

they were iffy in the castings - not all some of them my guess the one you have is ok - any of the cases can be modded for stroker wheels its in the spicket entrance and exit as well as the center - some times the center bolt needs to be machined and timed - and the more stroke the more you remove

some cases need more removed then others its a gotta it check thing

Cal Products made heavy duty engine and trans cases. They were around a fair while up til a few years back, they were bought by Rivera Primo. Unfortunately when Rivera Primo shut down, that stuff stopped being manufactured.

I had a set of 65 pan cases with the bottoms blown out and CAL was the only company making replacement pieces. It was a motor mount to motor mount repair and the pieces were very nice. That was in 82 or 83, probably about the same time period as your cases.
