There is no way to put a value on a cert like that!

Boris Murray was one of the greatest drag racers and land speed racers as well.
I believe that it is possible to achieve 75+hp on a 650. i just don't know how you would run it on a dyno with the dyno operator not blowing up your top fuel engine. Whoever I've talked to seemed to prefer to stay away from the dyno when high percentage nitro is involved.

There's a hundred ways to put a value on a cert. But none of them matter a damn when the inspector finishes certifying your engine and machine. Then shakes your hand and says "Congratulations!".

The hours spent in a garage making a part by hand because you don't have a CNC mill or lathe. The cost of parts that you need. Then throw in the other costs. $525 entry fee, $800 for the hotel, $400 for gas, A few hundred for food and odds and ends. It all adds up and then vanishes without a trace when you are handed your record cert.

Getting measured. When certified as legal the inspector signs and hands you the blue sheet (on his clipboard). Then all is well with the world. I've been fortunate to experience that feeling a few times. It doesn't diminish.

This is what makes it all worthwhile. Lars Neilsen gets his cert a couple of years ago.

Here are the SCTA Bonneville records for the Vintage fuel classes, no fairing all naked.

Special Construction – Vintage Fuel “A-VF” Records

1650 A-VF Bonneville Bobber H/D 08/10 141.337 mph
1350 A-VF Performance Indian Twin Scout Indian 09/12 148.527 mph
1000 A-VF Paul Friebus H-D Flathead 08/08 139.786 mph
750 A-VF Terry Lewis BSA 08/02 121.341 mph
650 A-VF RPN Motorsports Triumph 08/07 144.531 mph

Seems like the world fastest vintage bike is the beautiful engineered double engine Indian in the 1350 cc class

Since there is no more racing until May. I am working on a new design that we can use at the races to help support our efforts.
I placed the image of the new race bike in the design.

What's up with the images? They used to size down to fit, unless you clicked on it!

Thanks Alp. Nothing wrong with the size. When you pull down three records in a season you can make them as big as you want!!

Hey Alp. Saw this on another forum. You need this for hauling the bikes and the trophies.

I've found something older, '29 Model A closed cab pickup.

The problem NOW! is that I have to build it.

In about two months is El Mirage and I just started working on a new cyl. head today.
Are you thinking EM or only Bonneville this year?

I need to run the blower and get it sorted before Bonneville. The May El Mirage is what I'm aiming for. I haven't run it under load yet. I've been diverted doing some much need work around the house. But I will be at El Mirage this year.

Love closed cab As. There was one running around Riverside for years. Lusted after it. Looking forward to seeing it.

I just got finished rebuilding a Model A chassis for a guy.But I'm no Ford guy...

Looks like running the bike out west ain't gonna happen this year... Going to Loring Maine to run on the 1-1/2 mile track. I believe the bike as it is will close on on 130 mph with the longer track.

Bill, Looking forward to see your blower set-up!
Hopefully the pu will be ready by 2016 and I can bring it to El Mirage.

I believe you guys will hit the 130mark this year. I'm also thinking of running an M-PG/F bike, we couldn't run it last year due to the rains at the salt which made us change our race program.

Model A's are fun and very compact, there are relatively easier to work on.

We got the A-PF 149.279mph Record with our stock frame 1950 Triumph but our Special Construction race bike had gearbox issues so we couldn't get the fuel record in the vintage class but we will try next month again.
Here is a image of our A/VF bike from the SCTA facebook page.

We're getting ready for this weekends SCTA Mojave Mile!
Only a mile and we aim for 160+mph, can we do it?
