Oldrust,
wow! I just spilled my coffee. Can you tell us a little more about the bikes and the folks in 'em. Dig on the front license plate on the knuckle.
Found this on one of the Political Blogs I visit. It's pretty cool.

Rare Hildebrand motorcycle set to fetch £60,000 at auction
An original 1895 Hildebrand & Wolfmuller motorcycle
An 1894 Hildebrand & Wolfmüller, thought to be one of the world's oldest motorcycles, is set to fetch up to £60,000 at auction in April.
The first machine to be named "a motorcycle", the twin-cylinder, water-cooled, four-stroke was developed by the German brothers Henry and Wilhelm Hildebrand in collaboration with Alois Wolfmüller and his mechanic Hans Geisenhof. Its 1488cc engine developed only 2.5bhp. After being patented in January 1894, the machine was also licensed in France as La Petrolette, but production in Germany and France stopped in 1897. It is believed that only about 800 Hildebrand bikes were produced. The machine for sale in Stafford was owned by an American family and last used on the road in the 1930s.
"This is one of the forerunners in motorcycle design," said James Stensel, motorcycle specialist at Bonhams. "To see one in the metal is unbelievable. They are so, so rare."
It will appear at the Classic Motorcycle Show in Stafford in April.
Was that last one shot by a professional? It just looks so cool, and well, "perfect". It almost looks hand-colored. I love these old photos. Any of the guys still have their rides? Any passed on to the next generation? Thanks for sharing all the photos guys.
Hello!<O</O
<O</O First of all I must say I love this tread, today I found this old newspaper ad I sawed since 1970. At this time I was 13 years old and this guy in my home town build this chopper, I can tell you at this time in Sweden</ST1 it was not common with bikes like this. I remember I was very impressed of this bike and the guy was a hero, probably because of this I saved this ad all years. Sorry for the bad picture.
I think this guy is Fred Hamm. He was a motorcycle endurance rider who set a bunch of records. This picture is probably when he set a 24 hour mileage record. He marked out a circle on Muroc dry lake and went 1825 miles in 24 hours averaging 90 to 100 mph on a 38 knuckle......Yeah badass dude.
this is my father in law on the back, his brother infront of him, not sure of the other people. Dont know what kind of bike that is either buts a coll old pic
