Wouldn't that picture of your Dad have to at least be from 48' since the Hydra-Glide front end didn't get introduced until the 1949 model panhead? Not saying your wrong just going on what I know.
It would have to be later than that! The bags are '50, '49 had the western buckles. '49 also had painted fork lowers although someone could have stripped them. The front bumper is like the one H-D introduced in '55, looks like it may have the '52 Stainless frame/battery cover too. It is still a very cool pic, just not as old as remembered!

Rubone, you put my early FL knowledge to shame. I knew about the 49 fork lowers being black but you seem to have a heck of a grasp on the old stuff! Nice work
Don't feel at all bad about the date. It's cool that your dad was into bikes and that you have that pic to remember it by. To me it looks like it might be a wishbone framed Pan and that you might be off by about 10 years, but so what. Still a cool pic and memory.
