This is driving me nuts, hopefully while asking the JJ community I will be enlightened with knowledge and finally some answers. I introduced myself as another new punk about 6 months ago when I "started" my triumph project. It is a 67 TR6C and I have just moved out to Aurora, CO where the winding roads and great weather will be amazing once I get the sled going. My question is what do I do when trying to remain an all triumph motorcycle but can't seem to find the parts I continuously search for. For instance I am looking for a front end currently, bought fork tubes online several months back and now need some lowers and a triple tree setup. Without buying a bearing conversion kit to swap front ends to a cb350 I have read about in the forums which looks like my only real option do I just keep searching and waiting for something stock to come my way or move on and get this thing progressing?
Thanks everyone for any info and leads. I have tried pm'ing other people directly but not much luck or help so I'm starting this thread. Chad P. |

Grasshopper, with time, all things are possible.......
Now hit Evillbay and craigs list and the swapmeets and make it right, there are other britt front ends that will work, Triumph and BSA use the same ones on multiple models.....Roach.

It's hard to look at my project every day knowing i can't ride it yet. I have made a lot of sacrifices in my life to afford my "toys", & went without for many years. Had to sell my first love to pay the down payment on my house for me , wife & 2 kids.. I scraped side work money to buy a kz750 to ride while i scrounged parts for my project, & when it was done, i sold the kz to start my next project. I have worked 3 jobs at one point to afford my habbit. Now my kids are grown & i can build more expensive toys.
I went without for a long time to be able to build my bikes. Some times you have to readjust your prioritys.... Good luck |

Don't forget to place 'Wanted' ads on this and other forums. Place 'Wanted' ads on Craigslist, call independently owned bike shops all over the country and ask them to keep an eye out for you. Go to every swap meet you can afford to drive to, and ask forum members to keep an eye out at swap-meets that you're not able to attend.

You're not trying hard enough, or not looking in the right places...the stuff you are looking for is anything but rare. Don't give up, where did you try??? PM me and I might be able to make some suggestions.

There's currently a complete Triumph front end for sale in the swap meet section of this forum. It's extended, but you say you've already bought new tubes. Here's a link:

Just a decent update. Have not been on in a while, looking for parts and raising a 3 year old. Both are expensive.
I pulled the engine, bought some replacement parts and started to open her up. Better my labor instead of 90/hr shop. Bought a welder, tackled the seat bungs and biltwell mount. Also vertical mounted the oil tank directly to down tube and made sure I still have clearance. Rough fitted rear wheel after a polish and added new rubber. Still looking for motor mounts, rear brake stay and bushing for extended rod to catch. Waiting on axle adjusters and other parts to come in. Still f*&king with this front end. Bought a complete with 19" wheel last summer. Fitted my 21" avon to it but need new sleeves and it to be broken down so I can change the extended tubes with tweak bar out for some shorties. Parts for sale if anyone needs anything I mentioned to trade or buy on the cheap. Will keep anyone interested updated. Thank you all for advice negative or positive. Its a learning curve after all.
