I don't know the answer but what you could if it wont fit is take a small chainsaw file and make the slots a bit longer so the snap will slide to fit. i use 5 snap flat shields and do that when they wont fit. While were talking shields Fulmer makes a modern looking nice 3 snap that ive been using and i like it alot.

J&P and Amazon have an Echo flat 5 snap shield. The snaps holes are slotted for universal fit. I bought one from Amazon for a 40 year old AGV helmet. I have no idea if it will fit the Bell but the price is cheap. https://www.amazon.com/Echo-Shield-M...a-753629666051

About the Arthur Fulmer helmets: They used-to be made in Miami FL. I used-to go down there and purchase cosmetic "seconds," structurally-OK but with something in the finish causing it to be sold much-less expensively. Now, they're made in Taiwan. I'm a retired firefighter/paramedic from south Florida. The public health trust hospital in Miami-Dade County (metropolitan Miami FL) which is a Level 1 trauma facility (where you hope to be taken in the event of a life-threatening injury) has in close proximity, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner's office. A collection started by Richard Wright, the Medical Examiner, consisted of a floor-to-ceiling display of the motorcyclists' headwear in the lobby, a sober reminder of what can happen in a motorcycle accident. It's interesting to look-over the damage the various helmets bore. I've done EMS training at downtown Miami medical complex, and have visited that Medical Examiner's 'Wall of Headgear Trauma.' If you're able to-afford changing your helmet every five years, that seems to be the professional opinion about how to give yourself the best chance of survival shoud you need to use the anti-trauma capabilities of helments. Sorry to hear of your friend's physical and mental changes from his accident. There are stubborn people out there who will rationalize such accidents as-being a case of, "when your number's up, it's up." With a helmet and other PPE, it doesn't have to-be that way; give yourself every opportunity to withstand the inattentive motor vehicle operator's negligence, or the criminal intent of a malicious motor vehicle operator. I doubt there's a single rider who's a member on-here who hasn't been the victim of an attempt by a criminally-behaving driver who tried to intentionally hurt the rider. To paraphrase John Lennon: "give helmets (peace) a chance." |
