Default 1973, British Hells Angels Documentary

Hi Folks

I found this Short BBC film from 1973,
following the Hells Angels London Chapter going away for the long weekend.
Long before they became successful business men
Lots of Lovely Rat Brit Bikes and a suspiciously new looking Honda!!!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/adamcurti..._a_mini-b.html

Enjoy
Brian

Classic stuff. Things certainly were not as professional back in those days.

The Hitler swastika stuff is probably pretty accurate to most all 1% clubs, esp. from that era. Those guys sure didn't lead a very glamourous lifestyle. Not many chicks around.

Yeah, it was mentioned there were only 36 H.A.s in England at the time, I wonder how accurate that figure is?

I always thought the whole point of the 1%ers was that they weren't after the glamour, but the true biker lifestyle. as they envisioned it at least

definitely a cool video though

I meant the guys in the Brit video, compared to what was going on over here. "Glamour" was probably a bad choice of words as well; I think it was 3 a.m. when I watched that. Point is, I'm home for a few weeks after surgery and I've been watching lots of documentary biker footage; big American bikes, huge bags of dope, stacks of cash, strippers, etc. Exact opposite of these guys who were early club members. I'm sure it's a lot different over there now.

Thanks for posting that. Very cool. Amazing collection of bikes. It's wild watching them thrash what we consider "collectables" today.

No look at that,, that is the real deal from when it was happening. I doubt you would find many ( if any ) who would in this day and age aspire to that life.

The bike culture like many other subcultures became glamorize, marketed and sold. That why you have so many yuppie bikers,,biker websites,,OCC etc.

Strange isn't it

also ,,that was bunch of kids ( kids as They seem in there 20's ) rebelling as was the scene in the 60's

Where was Peg Bundy? A bit of truth in that doc., I'd like to see the Outcasts one too-the comments afterward were pretty interesting too.

Personally I welcome yuppie bikers and anyone else on 2 wheels. People like to forget about the days when the cops would hassle you a every opportunity (I was actually escorted out of a town in WVa by a cop), or being denied service at restaurants and hotels. The good old days weren't really that good.

The Outcast doc is on Youtube but for some reason there is no original audio on Pt.1, just a badly butchered version of Midnight Rambler

That is true, however, it doesn't make it cool.
