funny, I was just looking into the same thing for a 73 ke175 I picked up. I'm gonna call the BMV on monday and see what they say. Also I have to make sure it's not stolen (bought it off ebay from a local guy as a parts bike).

You can do a title search by vin on ohiobmv.com but it doesn't say much of anything. I was looking into ITS too but I'm going to see how big of a PITA it will be to go through the BMV first

I just went through ITS again without any hassles. They were about a 10 day turn around and cost $85 total! I always recommend them for title stuff! That is what they do and they are really good at it! Just make sure it ain't stolen or already a salvage title cause they can't do anything with those.
Good luck!

http://www.its-titles.com/

Has anyone in Ohio used them? Last time I looked at Broadway title they weren't able to do titles in Ohio, but not sure about ITS.

ITS can do it in any state I do believe...that's why I use them and not Broadway. Simple process...
1. Download their paperwork and fill it out
2. Get it notarized
3. Send it in with your payment
4. 10 days later get your title and registration paperwork to make your bike...yours!

It really doesn't get any simpler.

I just sent the paper work in on one of my bikes, Last friday. I will tell ya how it go's. My friend said it was real smooth. Just make shur it's not stolen. I know mine is good to go so we will see. $85. bucks and 2 forms real EZ. Frome the web site $125. or so you could get a plate to but in WA you have 3 mo to transfer a title so why pay for a plate. And if they can help in other countrys why not Ohio.

Just talked to ITS. They said for Ohio you use the 92 and older forms. I forgot to ask if the prices listed for the 92 and older would be the same for ohio, but if they are the prices would be...

74 older - $125
75-80 - $140
81- 92 - $165

Also Broadway Title changed their site and can now do Ohio titles, but they cost more because they use a different form. I tried to call to find out the price, but they were already gone for today.

I have a custom bike I did in Ohio. I had to go to the highway patrol inspection station. It is not fun depending on the bike. There is usuallly a 2 or 3 month wait to get an appointment. If you go that route make sure you have a receipt for every last nut and bolt. Everthing must be legal, exhaust, horn, turn signals etc.. It took me 3 times to get my bike to pass.

Yeah I've heard the custom inspection can be a pain in the butt. From the people I've talked to, some say they will accept ebay purchases for parts and other won't. Either way don't sound like a fun experience.
