Default 66 Cylinders on a 78?

What are the differences between shovel cylinders from the generator motors to the nose cone motors? Can I use cylinders designed for a 66 shovel with 78 cases and heads?

If it is a late 78, that was the changeover from 1200 to 1340. So if you have the 80 inch heads, they will not fit the 74 inch cylinders. But the cylinders will fit the basebolts.

My 78 is a 74". So the 66 cylinders will work? I was unsure of oil paths at the base as well of head alignment.

So he pulled the top end off and found his new cylinders were way bigger than his old pistons or his new pistons were way bigger than his old jugs?
