Back in the day I bought at least 12 of his posters. It took me a while to get them all framed but I did it. I had em done in a metal frame with glass. My kids broke all of the glass on em but one. His work is to good to have just one favorite but I am partial to the one where the biker is start'n a black Pan at night. Here's a link to all the Dave Man posters.

I was the road captain and designated artist ( poster / flyer designer / hack ) for a few years, and used this image on our annual spring run flyer...that Memorial weekend was the stormiest run I can remember, and I nearly rode into a tornado that had destroyed a Brother's house 30 minutes earlier....His family and bikes survived thankfully.

Anyway, I love David Mann stuff, and how he caught the essence of our lifestyle.

Way to cool.. and a good bonus.

My question is, does anyone have a favorite David Mann picture? I grew up with these posted all over my dads shop and others. Way too cool.

Been loving Mann's work for a long time.
I'll try and scan the one Easyrider centerfold I have left.

Not to discredit Mann as an artist but my opinion it's well drawn cartoons...

Cartoon is a drawing (or animated film) executed in a exaggerated style for a humorous or satirical effect.

So Mr. Mann's paintings are clearly not cartoons, although sometimes have a 'cartoon' quality, ie designed for a humorous or satirical effect.

However his work does feature characteristic bikers, bikes and places.

Everyone has a different style and Mann's was pretty easily distinguished. If it were too realistic wouldn't it just look like a photograph?
