Found these while troubleshooting my 76 Keihin carb on my 59 Ironhead. Wound up drilling my idle jet out slightly and it made a world of difference. good reading anyways.

cheers

Hello ProSimex -

Excellent read. Took me about ten years (almost 50 years ago) to finally wise up on carb tuning and pay attention to the details. It's almost always the idle/slow to mid-range circuits that make ALL the difference in rideability. I never race, so I never pay any attention to main jets, as so many mistakenly do. Am a big fan of FI, turbo and super-charging, but nothing is quite as satisfying as getting an old carbureted motor to run as smooth as FI. It CAN be done, provided everything else is in fine fettle, of course (timing, valve adjustments, compression, etc.).

Great resource. Have saved to all my other files. Many thanks!
