Default Round coils

Whats the consensus on the older style round chrome coils, are they OK, and particularly with electronic ignitions? I believe I have a Dynatek on the 84 shovel.

I used a round chrome coil on my knuckle, but it was standard points and condenser ignition. Never had any problems with the coil, but I have no idea what the current ones are like and if compatible with electronic ignitions.

An ignitions system with points needs a coil with higher resistance compared to an electronic system that most often uses a lower resistance coil.

...unless it's a Dyna S, which uses a points-style coil.

Its an 84 FXS with I believe a dynatek ignition.

The coil info showed 4 ohms. The majority of other coils Ive seen seem to fall in the 3 or 5 ohm brackets.

Are the round coils generally reliable, assuming proper application?
