just normal waterbased titanium white with transparent cobalt bleu on top, the skull alone is about 15 layers, that's what gets the depth in, white opaque layer then transparent blue and then knock it back with white again and so on.
the fun with titanium white is that it looks like the light source comes from within, and it really comes alive with clearcoat, see photo without clearcoat.
a friend of me works at a paintshop and all the restmaterial goes my way, they throw away liters of paint per week all waterbased and the grain is thin enough to go through my airbrushes without clogging up or tipdry.
