here is my first build ever...i have never worked on any motorcycle but when i seen this , i just had to try my hand at it ..... lets hope i haven't gotten in over my head......
thanks everyone.....it seems to be going good so far .....i am absolutely using the old tank ...that is my favorite part.....keeping it exactly the way it is just resealing it.....
so it has been a while since i posted but it seems as if i have hit a wall with my build ....i'm not a welder by any stretch so that is my big hold up .....i hope to start getting things wrapped up on it soon ...if anyone knows somewhere in the philadelphia area where i can it to help me with the welding ,wiring and such ,please let me know
Bike looks good. You've made it this far you should look around for a small lincoln or something. I never welded either until I put my bike together. I didn't have a garage either. I welded bits and pieces in my bathroom. Haha. Just a thought. Good job so far.
Are you in Philly proper or the burbs? I'm in Havertown, but I have a friend in S. Philly building a bike as well and is an excellent welder. Maybe he's looking for some side work.
i'm in narberth so not too far...i would love to buy a setup but all my money is going into the bike and i would hate to buy everything to only use it once although i'm sure i could find other uses
I'll give him a ring tomorrow and let you know or put you in contact w/ him. I have a welder as well but he is far better than me. I'm only a mile or so from you so maybe he can just use mine.
thanks man ....the bike was pretty straight to begin with .....it was my uncles that he had sitting around for ever he just never really has the time to get it back in shape so i lucked out ......pretty sweet though, all matching numbers and i think the tank made it look awesome
