Cool Re: Redesigning The 1956 Triumph - A Pre Unit Build by Alp

That's a really cool seat pan....looking forward to the finished product. What are you using to pad and cover it with ?

Thanks, will be using 1" closed cell foam for the padding and for the cover, the design we came up with will require combination of two materials: elk leather plus a contrasting softer material such as suede or something with a similar feel yet durable .

thanks Shrapnel84,
.
.

So in order to install the norton girder in to the triumph neck i had to machine a new stem. It will work with the tapered roller bearings since they are easily available.
Bottom bearing id is slightly larger than 1" and top id is 1"

Next i'm going to make the stem nut..

Default Front End Components

More front end parts that i made for the Norton girder.

The stem nut:

Steering damper knob, it is hand formed, so it's not even really symmetric, and i like the way it is..

Mini dog bones out of solid brass. 100% hand formed as well, like my frame slugs.. no cnc, no milling machine here!

There are not done yet, they will be send out for plating and polishing.

WOW, absolutely incredible.
I'm not sure if I want to go back into the garage again or just leave this stuff to the true craftsmen like you!

Did you grind a convex tool bit to achieve the curved groove or did you shape it by hand? Was the sleeve already on the frame or is it split? If that's brass, will it get brazed on to the lug? Elegant work.
