Default How do you use your bike?

I've seen a couple of posts on threads about "How do you use your bike".
Kind of interesting, because some of the stuff I see isn't real practical for an every day rider. So, what do you use your bike for? Is it a weekend bar hopper/profiler, everyday around town rider, highway flyer/reacher? I just thought of a couple more, show bikes (probably not gonna get much respect here) and "just like to build scooters".
I gotta admit that I seldom see the city limits sign the rearview mirror of my Panhead. I probably couldn't read the sign anyway. That's what the FXR is for (if I get it put back together again).
Anyway, what's your riding style?

I have an 06 Flyrite (obviously rigid). I take it on 3-4 hour trips, round town, to the beach, and occassionaly to the gym. That is why I am torn on my Pan perdicament, becasue I think I would be better suited to keep the ride I git ans wait to buy a, oh say, 75' flh for long trips. The wife would love me more!

Daily, ive come to work with it raining and storming. And Come to work on cold days. I ride my bike everywhere unless its flooded then I use my truck. MY girl gets more miles using my truck then I do and when I go out with her, its on the bike. Unless were picking up more then usual and we know it wont fit in a back pack.

I use one (or both) of my bikes every day, for everything except hauling guitar amps. I've been doing it for decades and know my bikes inside out.
I'm not trying to sound all hardcore though - it really feels like a losing battle sometimes. I think I need to find a modern daily rider this year.
I tried the car thing, but I just don't have the patience to fix them.

'08 klr was the work horse for everything (until it's demise at the front-end of a toyota truck) took fertilizer/soil/seed, everything needed for maintaining this property 70 some miles from home and the other properties I deal with locally.

'87 sporty (replacement for the KLR) is the same deal except I'm trucking everything tied to me,duct-taped or bungeed to the bike- working on fitting hard cases and rack to the back and sides.

The WLA and the triumph are being pressed into flattrack service with a side of around town jaunts.

The other misc jap bikes keep a tarp from hitting the ground right now.

unless it's horrible weather I'm on my bike everyday... Riding it in the rain doesn't prove to be too fruitful, the exposed electronics in front of the fender less rear wheel tend to short out when wet and I have to keep resetting the breakers It'll be all good in a week though, I'm mounting a new rear fender, and hiding the electrical between a set of flat side tanks... Then I'll be on it everyday. I hate driving in my car

I drove to a campus to deliver stuff, Crammed my backpack full of stuff. Got asked "Are you going to bring me the fridge today?" I couldnt help but laugh "With enough duck tape and alot of luck I can tape it to my scoot and wheelie it the whole way over here."

This is a picture of my bike. I still think it would of worked though. A skateboard might of helped too.

I use mine as a swear word target and an automatic oil stain replenishing system. Doesn't move much! Seems like every time I ride the thing something breaks and I have to wait a week or so for parts! Eventually it'll be reliable though and I plan on using it alot after that for just plain running around.

I ride my Triumph to see what will break next. The Softail Deluxe is for long hauling and wife hauling.

I use mine to ride as fast as I can everywhere I go. Be it a 1000 mile long weekend, or a couple hour cruise around town with some bro's.

I try to ride mine as often as possible (commute to work, bar hop, etc)...
But, I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which i'm pretty damn sure has the highest pothole per capita in the fucking world.

So...my bike (rigid chop, 6+ springer, 97 buell motor/trans) has become an R&D project for breaking shit......
So far this summer i've gone through:

1 bent rear axle...which proceded to shear off all five sprocket bolts..
1 broken headlight mount (1/4" plate)
1 exhaust pipe
1 stator
1 voltage regulator
2 sets of seat springs
Half a dozen taillight bults (including 2 LED's)
1 headlight toggle switch
1 license plate

Sounds like the roads in South Carolina. I am from PA and I don't understand why the roads here suck so bad. There is no winter or extreme weather changes to cause the extreme wear! I went though 2 sets of risers, 2 blown tires (I do not burn out), one license plate bracket, 3 tail light bulbs, 1 head light, and my ignition switch was riding between my cases one afternoon when I got home! This is all this summer!!! I also do weekly bolt checks, shit!
