Dan,
Great fab work as always, a huge inspiration for me.
What toggle switches do you use/recommend. The ones I have come across so far are all rubbish from China. I finally found a use one from the 60s-70s era that is holding up well but few and far between them and a need a couple more.

Cheers
Lester

Thanks so much Lester. Math is your friend with switches. I use ones rated above the load I plan to put on them. The ones shown will also have weather covers on their front, since there is no front mudguard.

Metal finishing all finished. Here is how the pipes fit the bike. This tube follows the right down tube nice and tight.

And brackets done...

Small detail of tail light / license plate bracket. Welded on nuts to the back reduce by half the number of fasteners to drop and lose when putting a tag on it

All 10 gauge construction, and of course an English bottle opener for good measure. Shorter bolts will be fitted to it when it goes together for the last time.

Thanks Dan, I am awear og the math, my toggles just seem to vibrate to failure after a season or two. I'd like them to hold up a bit longer. You can put your money on it that they will fail during a rainy rush home too. Murphy!
Any particular brand or vendor you can recommend?

Wow, fantastic fab work! Really like the brackets and supports, reminds me of some of the work i've seen on "MJK"'s bikes, super clean.
Looking forward to seeing it complete.
Cheers!

That's odd. I just assumed you were using under rated switches because I have yet for one to fall apart. It seems that most all of them are chinese, but some really do quite well, even in rough use. E-mail some pics and measurements of what you currently use, and need and I'll see if I can get you some of the ones I use.

Thanks! Who is MJK? This thread is not real time, it has been going on for months now. So you will see some further progress pics pretty soon.

Thanks Joel! That's what I was going for, tucked in, and tight. Also, now if I need to open the timing cover once everything is finished, both pipes can remain in place.

Here is how the switches will sit with the gas tanks in place. Since this client already own one of my bikes, I tried to replicate where the switches are on his other bike so his hand will fall to the same general area for hi-lo headlight control and magneto control.

Thanks for the kind words David.

Here are a couple more details. Oil filter mount first. BTW, DO NOT use a mobil1 M1-102 oil filter. They are too restrictive for triumph oiling systems and will cause excessive oil to go past the rings. If you run a filter, the FLO Oil Filter by PC Racing #PCS4C or #PCS4B functions perfectly.

Also, the filter adaptor is one of "Nottso"s pucks. Just check the jock shop section of the jj. They are tidy, nicely made, and Dan is a great guy to work with.

Here is the saddle pivot. I used an existing set of bosses and some 7/16" round stock and a bit of oxy/acetylene love to get it to the right shape.
