Default T110 Bobber build - camshaft help needed

Hi guys,

Building a '55 T110 bobber from a set of fleaBay matching # cases and frame. Had a seized '58 T110 motor knocking about that I assume the previous owner had stored in a swamp. Finally got the cases apart to get at the crank and cams and the cams don't match each other. I've got a E3134 and a E3325 B1. As I understand, the 3134 was the 'hot' and the 3325 the fast touring cam. My questions for the sage and mighty are as follows:

1. Why would you put different cams in for exhaust and inlet?
2. The profiles are very similar, the 3134 has slightly more lift - best used on the inlet?
3. Am I best just getting another 3134 instead so they match?

Thanks in advance.

James

Triumph used that combination (3134 on intake) from late '50s until about '66 on 650 engines. They used it even later than that (to '69 or so ?) on some unit 500 engines.

A 3134 on the exhaust too would make more power at high rpm, but it could make less below 5000 rpm.
