Long overdue, another Angry Monkey build thread, fantastic reading & exceptional attention to detail throughout the build,
Not wanting to blow too much smoke up your arse Dan, but I do enjoy reading and looking at the pictures of your projects,

Thanks! I like it too, and it serves a good function. Need polishing though

More details...

For the rear brake adjustment knob I turned up a neat little brass deal. Here is the process, well, at least the parts I remembered to photograph...

before.

next turn a nice shoulder on it, then part it off the bar.

drill and cut divots

dish in the face, and tap 1/4-28.

Cope the back

Done.
Very nice touch there, it's the little things that make the builds you do fantastic.

I really dig the custom brake adjustment knob. Like others have mentioned, the small details really add up to something special.

You should bang a few out and sell them. In stainless would be cool.

I don't have a milling machine or lathe but I do have a paypal account.

Coco, Thanks. I've been known to sell my wares on occasion. How about a brake adjuster made from titanium, like this. I don't think you'll see another like it at your local bike night It weighs only 18 grams.

....Or alloy like these.

Or knurled brass.

Cool Re: Angry Monkey Motorcycles '58 Triumph Build "Old Man"

Wow Dan, I really like the knurled brass ones the most even though the others are a hair away from being just as cool...with that six gun cylinder look.

One of those would be cool on my '57 6T or maybe the 1972 500 custom I have planned and if you were to sell one of them, I would definitely be in

I'd be interested in the titanium brake adjuster if you plan to put them up for sale

Thanks! Yeah, We are finding lots of dead squirrels and rats since this guy arrived. Which works out pretty well.

Thanks Dave! This is the only cat I've ever had that hangs out in the garage all the time. Noise, dirt, grinding, welding, nothing makes him run out.

More details...

The original clutch cable perch on these pre units is fairly crap IMHO; flexy, bad approach angles, etc. So, anymore, I build up my own perch, with more precise way of holding the cable end, and that holds it at a more direct angle to the clutch arm to reduce effort and wear. Since it is welded to the motor mount, there is also ZERO flex. I also make up my own cables, since the ones that are available to buy are rarely the same length, but are always too long. Here is how it works...
