Default 68 BSA A65T - Chugs, sputters after 15 min ride..

Rebuilt motor, less that 200 miles on it. - Recently had the rotor and stator replaced..

So i took it out for a nice little ride. And after about 15 min, it starts to chug, (and backfire if i am stopped and revving the motor) and I have to goose the throttle to get it going.. If I give it too much throttle, it just sputters and lags. (in traffic this is not very fun, ahem.)

Anyone have any ideas for solutions? New plugs? Lower octane gas? (is 93 too high?) Adjust carb?

Iffy battery like hotsos said, or if it was a real hot day do you have the recommended insulator between carb and manifold?

Could be a fuel flow issue too...check the fuel tank cap vent and test the cocks for fuel flow.

x3 on the cap. Wait till it starts up again, loosen the cap and either you have a n awnser or you're probably buying a new battery

Sweet. Thanks for all the responses guys.
I'll try the cap first, then battery.

So, in a nutshell, doesn't sound like a carb issue. (yay)

So, I replaced battery and newer colder plugs, (read some things about using colder plugs if you tend to thrash it and ride it fast) and it runs AMAZING!

Thanks to all for your help and input.
