Default 1968 XLCH Rocker Box Covers

Recently picked up this '68 Sportster XLCH. Can anyone tell me about the rocker box covers? They don't look original and don't look like the ones on my '75, either.

Also, does anyone know where the front end is from? I don't think it's a Sportster front end.

And, lastly, I'd like to find a lock and key for the magneto (there's just a plug in there, now). I've looked a bit and they seem to be a rarity. Is there a source for them?

Thanks.

Interesting bike.
I'm no expert, but it looks to me like someone got artistic with the stock rocker covers.
The front end is later, but a mixture. Not sure, but I don't think the factory every put a banana caliper on a narrow glide front end.

35mm Kayaba front end.

As was said, the rocker covers look like later covers that have been played with. Pretty cool if you ask me.
