Default Cant find a replacement bulb. Help?

Old Ford style stop light, you know the one...tail light and then an upper part that has "STOP" written into it.

There are two single-element bulbs in it, one for tail, other for stop.

The bulb I need is a BA15S base, G6 globe (S globes are too big) and has to be around 23W to be bright enought through the thick red glass lens. (just like a 97, but brighter)

I found the exact bulb in the UK listed as LB039 but cannot find it in the states.

Any sourcing assist would be appreciated (dont want LEDs).

Not sure if the numbers match what you are referring to, but I have a taillight that fits the same description and I got replacement bulbs at the local Napa.

I work for NAPA out here in SoCal and our warehouse has a huge assortment of bulbs. I even found a 4v. bulb for a friends britbike resto. Give them a shot.

I used to use the 50W miniture halagon bulbs with a BA15S base. They were just barely short enough to fit under the lens. At 50W they were super bright but made a lot of heat. About 2 years ago I switched to a full replacement lens for my '32 tailight that has built in LED lighting. Very bright, no heat, uses almost no power, and not suseptable to vibration.

I couldnt find any around here. I checked Checker, AutoZone, Napa. None had a high enough wattage and they would vibrate and break, so I bought one of the LED lenses from Justified Defiance http://www.justifieddefiance.com/cat...oducts_id=1330 It works great! Well worth the money.

I looked at those LED replacement lights, but then I read http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcyc...-articles/led/ and decided not to get them.

This guy shows before and after shots and the led was dimmer than the incandescent. I think it was becase of the standard light reflector in the shell not getting the volume of light and bouncing it out the lens...

Did you find the LEDs in this light fixture to be just as bright? Guys traveling with me now say they cannot see my brake light (currently has 10W 97 bulb since I couldnt find the 23W one.)

The full led lens/bulb thing from justifieddefience is pretty cool, but does not have the cool STOP in the glass like mine...

I have the same LED setup that Justified is selling but I bought it for a little less from a Model-A parts site on the net. This LED is much brighter then the OEM bulbs that came with my tail light. It is about the same brightness as the 50W halogen bulbs I used after the OEM bulbs burnt out. These are nothing like the 1157 replacement LEDs that the article described. They are bright even from an angle (not from the side, but a reasonable angle that you can expect traffic behind you to be at). I ride to work in pitch black darkness about 1/2 the year (winter months) so a good tail light is very important. I really wanted to keep the original glass lens, but decided it was more important not to be run over from behind.
