Default Throttle assembly for 73 Sporty with Bendix carb?

I've got a 73 Sporty with a Bendix carb and a single pull throttle. The aftermarket junk twist throttle that was on there just broke, and I'm looking for a quality replacement. It currently has a twisted wire cable, and no return to idle. I had installed a spring between the carb and the cable guide which gave me a tiny bit of return, but I'd really like the new set-up to return to idle on it's own.

I've scoured the web for solutions, but am coming up dry.
Suggestions?

Your original throttle was an internal one, with a non-stranded solid wire and a weak return spring (27272-71.) Some of the later Bendix ('74 and '75) did come with a return spring strong enough to pull a well lubed and properly routed stranded cable back to idle with the '74 and later external throttle. Harley's part number for that. spring is 27272-74. I'm pretty sure it's obsolete from HD now. The throttle HD started using in '74 wasn't great, but I'd pick a used one of those before some of the cheap aftermarket ones, and the spring might be available from the aftermarket as well.

That's a good start! I had kinda deduced that was the case of my original throttle, but all that is long gone. I'll be on the look out for a 74' throttle assembly now, but I was really hoping to get something quality off a shelf.
