Default Where "Tradition" began B4 JJ

Imagine if you will....a time of yesteryear when motorcycling was only 20-40 years old, a time of HD Jd's, indians, excelsior, pace arrow, crockers, Knucks and Pans. You are young, rebelious, mechanical, creative, posses a need to go fast, to do what none have done before, to express yourself through your work and your bike. Society's outcasts, overlooked, working man, outlaw, %'r...
Imagine today if you could visit that Parkerized Place and Time of handmade,no off the shelf custom parts, where CNC meant "Can Not Come" now because I am working on my ride.
Imagine better yet if if a one man had the vision, love, perseverence to spend his whole life collecting the best examples of the rareest, most unigue examples of these with a desire for a hands on living musuem where they all ran and WERE run and put them in one warehouse for all to come and to be greeted by the humble man himself that takes the time to talk to you, demonstrate, exhibit and ..maybe let you ride some of this "Tradition"
Well... Stop imagining and get you rigid ass out to Dale Walksler's "Wheels through Time" Museum in Maggie Valley N.C.
Here are a few examples of the manny many bikes, motors, memorablia etc that is in store, and by the way buy a raffle ticket for the VL that he is giving away.

Dale should get an invite from the Head Honchos here at the JJ to The EDR"08 and see what he rides!

yes, that is a picture of ONE of the '36 Knuckle, shaft drive Trikes (say that again slowly) that he has and that I mentioned in a Post that he wants Panhead Steve to repair a frame on. Only 6 prototypes made, HD Corporate has one, he has three and HD does not know where the others are!

I've met Dale and he's a fantastic guy - treats you like he's know you forever. If you are a gearhead and like old bikes - you should make NC a destination for a trip. Cruise the mountains. Drink Sweet tea. Stop by the Museum and Dale might go tearing around on a boardtracker that was raced back in the day.
Dale's a hero.

I remember when he was in Mt.Vernon,Il. Went there in the early '90's and it was waaay cool! He had an 80" Flattie with title for $1200.00 that I wanted to buy but,I never made it back. Still kicking myself for that one.

I'm heading to Winston-Salem next weekend from Kentucky...

Can you say, "side trip" ?

Good, I knew you could.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Otherwise, I would have driven right by.
