Default Would your ride this?

I saw this bike for sale recently. I would have actually considered telling my friend to get it if it wasnt for the rims. I dont know if I would want to ride this...Hit a jersey pot hole and have the rim buckle or do you think they are still stong enough to ride?

The guy was asking $6500 for it. I think that was way to steep for an Iron Head but it looks like a cool bike minus to sketchy rims.

Sounds too expensive. I'd say pick it up if it was cheaper I dunno about jersey potholes tho.

I wouldn't not buy it because of the rims, rims are cheap and easy to replace. I wouldn't buy it because the price is about 3 grand higher than every other ironhead I see that sells around here. I really dig the gooseneck and plan on building a frame practically the same dimensions as that, but for far less than $6500. Looks like a well built bike with great lines, just too rich for my blood.

Front end sure looks it... Danny? KayJohn? Mafufa?
Those rims are still strong... I've seen many drilled like that over the years; held up as well as an undrilled.. I've been looking for one, that one looks sweet!

Jersey roads are unlike any other. I can't say for sure wether or not they'd last but you could always swap them out easy enough. As for the price, I may not pay it cause I like to buy cheap POS's and build my own but for someone who can't do that I'd say if it was a quality bike then you have to pay up. It may 2x as much as some other IH's but it also appears to be 2x the bike so....

I would think the back wheel would be alright Matt, the tire has alot of sidewall to it. As for the price thats kinda high. But if he likes it that much, Go for it.

The drilled rim is fine. Choppercopper1 on here has a drilled out rear on his 57 and rides all over NY with it.

Frame and fender sure look to be Denver's. Odd to see one that far east.

Yeah, I see several unfinished, unpainted, or just plain broke down ugly IH's going for 3K around here. That bike is way nicer, and looks like a Denvers bike. I'd offer up 5K and see if it sold.

I'd run the rims, they are cool. And if you are really that worried about potholes, maybe a low travel chopper isn't the ticket.

I wouldn't ride it like that because the front tire appears to be flat.

Your right!

As for it being to much money, $6500 is way to steep for a IH but this bike was pretty clean, none of the chrome was blistering or rusting, Paint was in pretty good shape. I just thought the rims were sketchy. Im sure my budy could have haggled him below $6K for it. It looked nicely done and it looks to have been riden so you know its not a pile of parts. Most IH I have seen for the $3K range were close to stock bikes of customs not finished or in somewhat rough shape.

I am curious if it is a Denvers bike though. The front end and rear fender lead me to believe so.

yeah you would have to really really love ironheads to pay that much for it....right now you can get some really sweet shovelheads for the same money and some even a little less....we got a gorgeous rebuilt ironhead at our shop for sale for 4500 and i will take less with no problem....go shovel....its a buyer's market out there....

That's the best advice, Aphelion's bike is sweet and priced right.
