Default My Shovel Version 4.0

Finally went for a cold ride around the neighborhood last night since putting the shovel on a diet over the last month.
Poon busted out a sweet pearl metallic teal/blue fade over a silver base. Still gotta go back home and put a solo seat on it so I don't scratch the fender anymore...I'll take proper pics later.
Oh, and I need a left side drum brake lower and then I'll shave the fender mounts and polish them.

This was version 3.0

Man, nice before and killer after. Sissybar is sweet; usually dont see such a tall stick on a swingarm, but it looks great. Nice work.

Thanks guys.
Looking into fixing the tranny mainshaft seal leak was what started this...saw the drive chain sawing through the bottom of the starter and decided I couldn't live with that...I did manage to replace the seal in the end...no all the stuff that was decent on the bike before looks like crap next to the new paint...I dug it before too, but in the end I think it was torn between being a chopper and a cruiser.
Here's how I got it:

Here's version 2.0 before the 3.5s, the tin outer primary, and the pan swingarm:

Wish it was mine! This was over at the shop I used to work at, Circle City Hot Rods in Orange, CA. Took it for a short spin down the 57 this morning and stopped at the shop to see if anything fell off.

I thought 3.0 was a great looking bike, but 4.0 is just incredible. The only thing I'd do is skinny up the front end; narrow trees and shaved lowers. Paint is great as well.

I agree, except won't be narrowing the trees (my other shovel...). These are shaved early models. Really want to shave and polish the lowers though!!! Might work on a horseshoe oilbag too for ver 4.3.

Sounds good! BTW, what's a cold ride? I just came in from shoveling snow!

coulda swore that's what I just did.
This is a daily rider, I have no intentions of making a super narrow bike out of it, just a proper chopper. The bike is very comfotable for me and a great lane splitter as it is, even through downlown LA on the 101 which is interesting to say the least. I'm gonna ride it for a while like it is and I'm sure i'll change some more stuff later like what I mentioned, when I find the parts. I welded on a Biltwell seat bracket last night and will mount the P-pad this week, it's good to be back on the road...

Thanks, try Ike Turner.

Don't be afraid of shocks, but there is a big difference in swingarm bikes and a Softtail.
