Ha! Well, it was cheap, just a bit of time spent to whip it up on the old Rockwell AND no fire broke out on the lathe this time (trying to hurriedly make a Ti wedding band for a friend, can be dangerous). FUN FACT: when turning titanium, use low chuck speeds, and carbide tooling. High chuck speed, even with a shallow cut, generates some dangerously hot stock and swarf. I may have already mentioned this? Anyhow SAFETY FIRST! Or second, whatever you have time for

No, this frame is a replacement one with no numbers. I got it from "doc" on here. The motor came from Jon at NYC Norton. The set I got from you is about three bikes out from getting done.

Dan, have you checked out k&p oil filters? They seem very similar to the FLO filters. If so, I wonder how they compare. I have one on my victory that seems to do a very nice job and looks great too.

small update on the bike...

Here is a pic of the final stainless brake knob and the rebuilt magneto installed but not timed. Look over the missmatched pick up nuts, they are place holders while I find a vintage one to match the other.

Ryzart has the first coats of color on the tins. The fun stuff is about to happen on them

Dan, I was gonna make a comment on the bungee cords holding up the mag....then I realized those weren't bungee cords and I felt stupid...

Then I read the thing about stretching out someone's intestines again. I laughed and felt better. Figured you should know this important piece of information.

Hahaha! So, you're telling me using bungee cords instead of spark plug wires is a bad idea?

....Dan, with so much attention to detail in all the work you do.... ever thought about doing a magneto teardown / inspect / repair thread??
I remember there were some magneto build info you added in past build threads.

Stand by for some surprises on this build. I think you're going to dig them.

Is there something specific you would like to see?

It's ok, those wires really do look like bungy cords

Here's a small update on the bike. This is the final push to have it ready for Barbers Vintage Days in a couple weeks. If any of you are planning to attend, stop by my booth at G35 and say HI! The inner primary and clutch is on and ready. Tins are getting finished up by Ryzart. There is still a ton of stuff to do, but I'll try to take a minute to post progress.....

This bike will also be at Barbers. Just a quick 10-hour round trip to the Gulf Coast and back to pick it up in "Fungus", my new hauler.

Fungus is a great name for that truck. Do you still have our other old truck?

Good luck at the show. Would love to come along.

Dan.

Dan, sweet hauler, as Dan boy I really liked you other one to. If I lived in the states I would be scratching at your door trying to buy it off of you.

are you putting the alternator back on with that Newby clutch? If so what changes have you made for it to fit? Did you machine the front pulley or a new nut for the rotor?

Dan.
Dan, Here's the story on the name; I told my wife "Well, that ugly green is starting to grow on me" Then she said, "Yeah, like a fungus". So the name stuck. The old IH truck wasn't for sale, but it did get bought .

Haha, if you lived in the states, I'm sure you'd be even MORE covered in leather work. By the way, How is our project coming?

To put an alternator inside the covers I use a 1/4" spacer between the inner and outer covers, and I trim the stator field a bit so it will clear. I will post some pics when I do this one this weekend.
