Default I got a Sportster Ironhead...

I got this from my dad after he passed away. It's really small and ugly. I plan on doing some drastic changes to it.

I'm looking for a new frame for it i think. I like the digger look or the flat track look. Short and basic, like the pic in my avatar. Anyone know where a good place is to look at frames for this type of motorcycle? Any favorite sportster pictures? Please post.

thanks,

My thoughts exactly. Ditch the signals, new seat and bars, and voila!

Given that you've described the bike as " really small and ugly", I won't be suggesting a no-stretch hard-tail and shorter forks. There are lots of after market frames out there that will give you some room to stretch out and create a longer, more elegant bike. http://www.sportyspecialties.com/choppers.html has a number of Ironhead chassis you can look at. My personal favorite is this one:

Nothing wrong with a bolt on. Just don't use a cheesy looking one.

Just so you know, "short & basic" and "digger" are pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum...
