Default Help with rear juice brakes identification

Hi all.

I was going through my stash of brakes and have a mismatch of rear juice drums that I can't seem to pinpoint years and/or wheels/hubs where they were from.

Here's the main photo.
1-2-3 all have the same type of brake drum
4 is the only different one with bearings in it

All of the brake plates have a lip that goes over the drum, except for #3 which is sunk in.

#3 is the one that was on my 51 Panhead, on the Invader wheel.

All drums are exactly the same width inside.

But number 4, here on the left, has a ring behind the sprocket

Some drums have markings inside and 1 has on the outside.
Drum #4 says 67 inside.

Am I correct in saying:

Drum #4 with bearings in it, is for midstar hubs?
Drums 1-2-3 with no bearings, are not for midstar, but what application?
Drum #3 is a non midstar drum with an early years brake plate? what years though?

thanks!
JP

What Joe said and your backing plate that is above drum no.3 is a 58-62. The backing plates with the big lip around them are meant to go with the drums you got. 63 and newer.
Drums 1-3 are for star hubs. You also need a year specific axle sleeve to go with the drum /hub. The swingarm axles for star hubs are the same 58-66 only the sleeves are different.

Thanks gents.

I have just been checking it again and I was wrong. 1 and 2 are the same, but drum 3 is different.
and now taking in account your comments, do I get this right?

This one (which was 3) has a 58-62 backing plate and also a 58-62 drum as it has the sunk in bit for the plate. and it's for a star hub.

Then we have #1 and #2
Both drums for star hubs, backing plate for 63-66, along with the drums.

and finally #4
All complete and its for 67-72, and bearings in drum is for mid star hub.

got all that right?
