Someone mentioned reactions between different products.

A few times when Iíve tried painting on top of old paint Iíve had trouble with it reacting, which can really ruin your day, especially if it happens a few hours after youíve finished. Now I always go back down to metal and start again if possible, but itís not always practical (maybe there is a lot of moulding etc). I found a product called Barcoat - itís an isolator which wonít react with anything, worked an absolute treat for me.

I have a few of these touch up guns, which you can actually get quite a bit of paint in - easily enough for a tank. Theyíre really easy to clean and adjust

+1 on Barcoat Cookie. I've used it to great effect.

I was only kidding about the spray paintz.. I only know about huffing paint and eating lead based paint as a kid. I am NOT a painter.

Hey there here is my go at custom painting.... it was quite a roller coaster ride and I look forward to the next paint project. Now two yrs later.... the paint is still on and still turing heads so I did something right.

Lots of tips...thanks guys, I'll be referring back through it I'm sure! Wonder if anyone has tried one of those paint booth tents from Home Depot or Lowe's.....they seem cheap enough to at least give one a shot. I have an abandoned outdoor shower I might try to turn into a booth too, but lighting it will be difficult. Bike looks great BTW Dan Boy

Brian, did you have a look at my link above? Lots of low budget solutions there.

Cheers

Thanks man, she's a keeper.

Don't forget to post up your ongoing paint work when you get going.
