Default xs650 wheels on a ironhead

Was wondering what obstacles would I have mounting 19" xs650 yamaha wheels on a ironhead hartail. Im digging the looks of the drilled out mags. I was planning on having 19" in both front and back. Anyone familiar with these wheels. Do i need to make any spacers for the rotors or sprocket?

as it Happens,..back in the 70's I built a 45 chop & used an XS 650 rear wheel (spoked with a drum) & it fitted real easy without spacers or anything & I have fitted a Sportster rear wheel (also spokes) into another 45 chop I built a few years ago and all lined up great so I'd say Go for it........Yellow was in the 70's,....silver in 2005

Could you elaborate on the brake plate anchor and brake linkage? They don't appear to be installed in the photo.

Can't answer your question on spacing, but you're going to have to run a skinny rear tire on the 19" Yamaha wheel. If that's the look you're going for, cool!

The tracker guys have been using the 19" rear for several years. Omar's makes a conversion kit to change the front wheel to a rear. I've included a link to his kit http://www.omarsfiberglass.com/street-tracker However, I know people who have figured it out on their own. Also check on www.xs650.com for information.

I have drilles out 19" mags front and back on my XS bobber.... everybody get all worked up about how cool it looks. Went with as mentioned Omars kit in the back. You will probably need spacers up front, no big deal.
I made and posted a 1:1 pattern on an XS site for the holes some yrs ago, I am sure you will find them. The spacing is spot on... my point of view.

got pics on Insta jl_troll

Go for it

Bob
the bike wasn't finished as you guessed in the pictures.
but in the first photo, the brake arm runs from the top tube down to the brake plate.
It was bolted to the frame using a bolt on footpeg bracket seen in the photo as I didn't want to weld anything to an original frame.
the cable stop was bolted through the rear stand pivot point of the frame
