This is a bike built by Mark Cornish. There was a Red Line Motorcycles back then and it was an UNauthorized HD shop and an authorized Triumph shop...somebody else bought the name now and is building big inch baggers or something.
Mark still works with me here at Univ of Calif at Santa Barbara. He was talking about building another bike similar to this...so I gave him the tank I had...we'll see. This bike got sold to some French guy.

Hell, I worked there and had to refresh my memory! Hell, we may have even met back then! Mark will be amused that we are looking at his handiwork this many years later. Proves that some lines are timeless.
Thanks for posting this shot and I'll make sure Mark sees this.

20 years ago this was a clean scooter yes, Frenchman or Belgian, doesn't matter...as Tiberius said: "proves that some lines are timeless"... and still, this bike has some nice frame/rake/forklength lines..to me that is of course..(Belgian ...)

I believe Mark built the frame and controls himself. He had his own fab/welding shop at the time...that he lived in. I remember when he came into the shop to show us this magnificent new process called "Powder coating"...we were amazed...
If I remember correctly...22 years ago...I was about to marry a French girl...there's your French connection. I got no problem with the French..except her.
Danny are you sure you never slept on my couch? I thought any out of town chopper guy back then that stopped in at Red Line ended up sleeping on my couch back in those days. I lived in downtown Santa Barbara, had large, low black american cars, numerous idiot friends, chased a lot of girls, and we drank a lot.

Now the Deer Lodge has no pool tables, and the Wheel has been closed for years...The Hub though...The hub lives on! It is where the real local bikers hang, the yups are around the corner at the Deer Sludge.
I was hangin' in Ojai then too...still do. I still miss the Wheel.

Give a holler next time you're in town, you probably have a place to land, but just in case, I still have a couch, but most prefer to stay in the garage...better view.

I never been to the Hub. The Deer Lodge is as bad as the wine bar they own on Thompson, sources say. Maybe someone will reopen Wheeler's or the Pine Mt. Inn. And there's always Shydeck!
Let's go for a ride, lend Danny one of your quiver of bikes Ty!!
