Default Another Texan checks in ...

Hello folks.

Just lost my Dad. "Lone Star" Louie was an icon in the SE Texas region.

Old school biker.

Inherited his FXDWG and an XL he planned to chop.

I plan on finishing it for him.

Got a set of Invader 5 spokes on the way and a Flyrite Smokin Gun frame waiting in Austin with my name on it.

One of the best sites on the web going here.

Proud to be a part.

Great job.

Will do pal.

I am in Port Arthur, Texas.

He used to draw bikes and bring the pics home and give them to me in the 60s ... still have the images in my head.

Fell asleep on the way home from a friend's ... hit a tree, flipped his car into the bayou and drowned.

Was preparing for the Memorial Day Blowout in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Dad had stopped by the grocery store to get his supply of Lone Star beer.

Bikers heard of the wreck and went to the crash site the next day.

Stripped off ... jumped in and had a beer party right there on the spot with all the beer Dad had bought that was still floating in the water.

Empty Lone Star cans stuck on the branches all over the tree Dad hit ... still there on the side of the road ... appropriate.

Several hundred bikes at his funeral on Memorial Day.

Also appropriate.

That man could ride a motorcycle.

Godspeed Pop.

Sorry for your loss bud, and it sounds like a big loss to the scene as well. Welcome at the same time, though. What part of Tejas are you in?
