We did use the same shot in our catalog www.metroracing.com web site and some advertising over the years.

Ok. That makes sense then. I used to pick up Old Bike Journal every once in a while and I also at one point was going to buy a vintage Husky jersey from your site so I prolly saw it on there too. I had restored a 79 390cr and was going to go racing... after woods riding it a couple of times I realized I was way to old for that crap lol. (sorry for the thread jack)

Not vintage, but it's a great street-legal hybrid of both flat track and desert bike that would be ass loads of fun on the street and reasonably cheap to build. Imagine tear-assing around in a pack of these!

This is a 500 that was racing in Perris a while ago. The owner Lenny said he built it for under $2500. Check out the K&N breathers on the rocker caps.

This is Joe Pape's 53 KR...dual plug heads with dual mags, and no brakes. Fun. The Triumph is a 66 bonneville Jack Hatley built...currently owned by Yaniv at powerplant in LA. I rode all of these and it made me wanna build something...

It's a Honda XR650 (or 600?) desert bike with different forks, custom subframe, lowered rear shock or dog bones, tank, seat pan, etc. I don't think the actual frame was modified, but it's also not finished in this pic. I don't know much about it, but I know you can find the "L" for "Legal" models on CL once in a while for 2k or so depending on how hammered it is. Probably cheaper outside of CA. The design hasn't changed in a long time on these bikes and there is lots of aftermarket support on the mods so engine parts and tuning stuff is real easy to come by. They are known to be workhorse motors and routinely run 100mph plus in baja all day, so on the street... Can you tell I'm in love with it too?! I'm sure there are ADV riders on here who could tell you lots more about them.

Thanks. I googled Gary Nixon but just got tons of stuff about his racing past. Does anyone have a link? Maybe I'd get them from somewhere like Omars?

I do, but they are all 2 1/4x2 1/4 slides and my scanner won't scan them. I'll hunt down a magazine and try and scan them photos.
