Ian, dident they have a reducer that you could use with HOK striping paints if it wasent going to be cleared over. I think it used to leave the paint with a gloss. I don't know if HOK still makes...

If this was 10 years ago I would say don't clear it, but the new 1-Shot red is just shit! it will turn flat on you in about 6 weeks. I have my stripes cleared with HOK clears all the time (1-Shot...

TC was racing into the early 80's, I think 82 or 83. there is a poster on the shop wall promoting the race with a picture of him on it. when I get to work on Monday i'll check the date and post it.

Why would it rust under the clear but not under a base coat? If it's sealed with clear which wont absorb moisture,(unlike primer) it's sealed! Unless there was moisture trapped during the spraying...
