Re: Pan Primary chain replacement step by step wanted

I forgot about the clutch hub tool. Mine is a a worn out fiber plate welded to a warped steel plate. This locks the hub and basket together then you can use your handy jam bar for tightening both...

Re: Pan Primary chain replacement step by step wanted

Hey. Your welcome. The trick to getting it off is to pull the clutch hub with the correct puller. Then the engine sprocket comes off. After you've done those steps you loosen the 4 nuts under the...

Re: panhead el cylinder bore

You would have to take .1875" out of an el cylinder to get to a 3.5" bore. No way this is ever gonna happen. And boring 74" cylinders .060 oversize is risky too they get hot. Mine are .050 over and...

Re: panhead el cylinder bore

To get a "square" engine you would have to use 74" cylinders bored 60 over that's as close as you could get.

Re: Mounting new Shinko 270 5.00-16 tires. Pressure?

I've run through 4 of these on 2 bikes. Both are run at Kansas highway speeds. Sometimes faster. I've never had a problem. They wear good, stick to the road and cost $80. I love them. 20 to 25 psi

Re: harley frame measurement

We can all guess that this isn't going to have a "traditional" drive train in it so why is it still here?

Re: I need help, Panhead will not start

If adjusting push rods is beyond your ability then you need to buy a Harley service manual and read it cover to cover twice and then go to the shop and work on your bike

Re: Buying a Knucklehead or not plz help

The engine Not worth much more than the price of the heads and cylinders. That puts it about the price of a pan or gen. Shovel. If the frame is uncut and original it's worth a few thousand. Then the...

Re: Best way to bend tubing?

I gotta say that the JD2 is the best way. I built one about 6 years ago. The plans were on the chopperbuildershandbook site. They are long gone now. I also cast my own dies and machined them. It was...

Re: Ideas on mounting a tin primary on my 66 shovel

That trans has the long 70 and up shaft. That is why your primary is sticking out so far. You have 2 choises space the primary out like you are doing or pull the trany and install a 65-69' main...

Re: Ideas on mounting a tin primary on my 66 shovel

Ok here is what I see. I see a very thick spacer on the sprocket shaft. This suggests to me that the trans has a 70 and up shaft in it. This would cause the clutch basket and the engine sprocket to...

Re: Pan/Shovel head gasket question

Ok I can't believe what has been said and not one person flamed you for it. Pan and shovel head gaskets are definitely not the same bolt pattern unless you have aftermarket pan heads.
