It started life as an Old Gold Garage seat, but as they say, friends don't let friends ride stock. A good buddy took it and redid it from the pan up so that it fit the bike.

I would've just went with it from the get go. Did it damage the lobes at all? Did it mar the teeth or the bearing surface? If not, I'd just run it.

Okay, so you've eliminated that your timing is set incorrectly and you're certain that the impulse coupling is not releasing at the appropriate time.

I just had an early G5 rebuilt by them and...

If you're cam gear is off a tooth (or even more), the mag will not be within the range to has the points opening at the appropriate timing mark, which fall within the adjustment range of the base...

Carmine, what's up with the inner-only valve springs? They didn't look like the beehived kind (the kind that reduce spring harmonics).
