Re: Dick Gambino's café
I used to live 25 min from his shop and I curse myself everyday for not being able to visit him and maybe learn a thing or two.
This guy is more than a master craftsman.

Re: Got welding skills??
That was awesome. I'm from NYC and witness 9/11. I can't fully explain what this means to us. At the same time it's both hard/ and not hard to imagine the progress that has been made at the WTO site.

Re: Pay Backs, The Dick Gambino Story
Wow! Is it just me or do those door look like the the ones on the old black and white Popyee cartoon? You know at the beginning of each one they would open and close with a thud.

Re: Bike building school? Or some place to learn?
Good advice being given on here. I don't post much on the JJ because I don't own the supported bikes (yet). I'm new to metal fabrication and bikes. I started out with one Japanese bike. I don't have...

Re: An idiot almost sent me to hell yesterday.
Did he even say why he pulled that maneuver? Sheesh! I don't ride very often with groups so I'm not that experienced but I let the leader know that. My worst nightmare is what happened to you and me...

Re: New guy from NJ Shore
From someone that lives in Jersey City and doesn't have a 4x4 area to work in- lets just say I really like your barn. It's very nice. Lovely infact.

Re: Pay Backs, The Dick Gambino Story
Ever see that classic cartoon where a dog has a rope around his neck and it's tied to a doghouse? The dog takes off chasing after a cat or rooster and when he's just about to grab them...YANK!

Re: Just Putting This Out There
Same here. I've always wanted a bike since I was ten. I had to wait until I was 32 to get one - 43 now. I took the MSC both basic and advanced classes and just rode. I learned a little at a time on...

Re: First Triumph project just about done
Sweet ride! Love the year as well. Post a vid when it's running- I'd like to hear what that exhaust sounds like.
I'm moving to Long Island as soon as I can sell my place - hopefully in the next...

Re: Triumph Bobber Build
I really like it. I for one, dig the beefy front end. It feels like it can handle the shitty, pothole riddled city streets I live in with ease. Nice blend of old and new style.

Maybe there's some development delay?. I might be blind but I don't see it on the product page nor is it mentioned anywhere else on the site.

Re: Welding With Junk
Ironhead has it right - very short split second spot welds. Let it cool, then repeat. You can use PAM as an alternative to spatter spray - it works and you might even have some in the house.

Re: a new show on tonight about cafe racers
I like the cafe racer show- though I was hoping they would spend more time on the fabrication of the bikes and not just show them cleaning and bolting on a few pieces.
I need to check out the...

Yea, take heed to the great advice given. Not sure about your experience on wrenching, but the worst part about bike building is not getting started. If this is your first build, it doesn't have to...
