unless you are a machinist or talented with a lathe it'll be easier to buy stock tubes and lower them if you want a lower than stock stance. 650 triumphs ran those forks from the mid 60's to 1970....

there will only be a small amount come out of the engine it self. you have to drain the oil tank seperatly to get the rest out.

i worked at a p/c shop we stripped everything with a propane torch or propane tiger torch then sand blast or glass beaded. way faster and easier than any chemical and with less mess.

so true! after years of use those springs (thackeray washers) end up plugging the oiling relief in the rocker arm, therefore blocking oil flow to the shaft, rocker tips, etc. i put a washer on each...

my experiance with raking triumph frames is its hard to not wreck the numbers when you cut aft of the steering tube. others will cut the down tube and the back bone and that looks kind of terrible...
